Frances grew up skating in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and began figure skating in 1964 at the age of seven. She trained in figures, freestyle and dance and skated competitively for the CFSA. Frances began coaching in 1978 and has worked as a full time coach since then. As a teacher of figure skating for more than 30 years, her philosophy has been to teach the “joy” and the “art” of figure skating and to never compromise on technique. Countless skaters have seen the results and become wonderful skaters and better people. Frances is a USFSA member, certified level A as well as a PSA member. Additionally, she has a BA in psychology. Frances has been married to Turner since 1984 and had an “ice skating wedding” which made the news. They have three grown children – Sasha, Jessica and Clifford – an attorney, a dancer and a musician.
