Aaron Gillespie was born in San Francisco, California and began skating from the age of three. By four, he began competing and eventually moved to the New York City area where he trained at the Ice House training facility in Hackensack, NJ. Aaron trained under Professional Skating Association’s president Eloise Becker, and eventually National and World Coaches Steven Rice and Rosanna Tovi. Aaron competed for 18 years and along the way became a United States Junior National Champion and Senior Men’s Competitor. Aaron also focused on pair skating and has his Senior pair test as well as being a double Gold-Medalist in Moves-in-the-field and Free Skating.
After his competitive career, Aaron turned to the professional world, both as a coach and as a performer. Over the following decade, Aaron toured around the world to over 30 countries performing as a principle skater and show director in companies such as Royal Caribbean International and Holiday on Ice. He also has taught both freestyle skaters, pairs skaters, and moves in the field in Northeast New Jersey.
Outside of the ice, Aaron has specialized in physical fitness and off-ice training such as plyometrics, stretching, and jump training. On the ice, he specializes in jumping at all levels including harness-training, spins, choreography, and power skating.
His goal is to pass on his passion for the sport to others and help guide skaters in a positive and uplifting manner.
