Marla Arnold began her amateur skating career at the Sunrise Ice Skating Center in 1980 and became a professional skating coach in 1993. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in 1994 and earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology in 2006 from The Ohio State University. Through her educational and skating experiences, she has continued to develop and evolve her coaching skills. Marla knows that each skater has a unique way of understanding and works to find the optimal way for each individual to learn and grow to be the best skater that they can be. Marla has worked with beginner recreational skaters though higher-level competitive skaters. In addition, she has also teaches power skating to all level of hockey players, from house level through AAA. Marla is a member of the United States Figure Skating Association, as well as the Professional Skaters Association. When Marla is not on the ice, she works closely with children, as a School Psychologist. Marla believes that skating is an incredible journey and is excited to share her knowledge and joy of skating with the South Florida Community.
